"Visit out-of-the-way museums,..." Paris Favorite Tip by noahsdad

Favorite thing: Visit out-of-the-way museums, especially the Gobelins tapestry factory (gorgeous works of art, antique and modern). Also: the Musee Marmottan (though I got the iciest stare there, I don't know why), the Musee Cluny (for the Unicorn Tapestries), the Musee Carnavalet (for the wit & wisdom of Mme de Sevigne), the Rodin Museum, the moving Holocaust memorial behind Notre Dame. See the old Paris: the Arenes de Lutece. See the new Paris: la Mosquee. See a bit of America, thanks to Bartholdi: the smaller Statue of Liberty visible from the bateau mouche. Also, though it is very much on the beaten path, take a side trip to Versailles. Every American I ever met in Europe compared their favorite palace (Schonbrunn, Nymphenburg) and said theirs was 'better than Versailles.' That's because Versailles was first! Don't be fooled by imitators--see where the decadence got started...
