"FLORENCE. Anywhere you come..." Italy Favorite Tip by lengyelp

Favorite thing: FLORENCE. Anywhere you come from, most possibly the first thing you will see is the dome soaring above the town. It will be your main point of orientation in the city as well. But again, you can't be prepared. You walk nearer and nearer to the main square, but when eventually you turn the corner and see all the pink, green and white marble of the Duomo... you just stand there and watch, unable to say a word.
Of course if you are here, don't miss the Palazzo Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery (even if you have to stand in a line for some time). Visit some other churches, too, you will find many traces of Michelangelo (and not only him). Cross the Ponte Vecchio, go up to the Giardini dei Boboli, and have a walk there, watch the sight of the town, explore the quiet alleys...and fall in love with the city.
