JEZRE'EL VALLEY, a large fertile valley spanning the width of Israel between the mountains of Galilee and Mount Samaria. Due to its geographical location many roads cross through it, including ancient international roads. Thus it was the arena of battles against invading armies from north and from the south throughout the ages. As the story goes, Napolean once stood on a hill at Megiddo gazing upon this valley and proclaiming it a "wonderful place for a battle". Due to Biblical prophecy, this is where the war of Armagedon will be fought.
