"On Sep 20, we got to know..." Greece Things to Do Tip by wonga0

Greece Things to Do: 910 reviews and 1,597 photos

On Sep 20, we got to know there'd be a concert by a famous Greek composer called Yannis Markopoulos [I had his CD at home, so I knew him.] at this grand theatre. We're too late when we arrived the box office, where all tickets had already been sold out. However after a lot of effort, we're able to buy the 'reserved tickets' [we're only allowed to sit on the stairs.] and enjoyed a majestic opera for almost 4 hours! Frankly I didn't concentrate much on the opera [anyway, it's in old Creten language!]. My mind was away, dreaming about thousands years ago during the golden age, men cald in goatskins sang and performed dances on the stage. People came from all over Attica for the ceremonies, performances and feasting! On top of the stadium, we could see the contrast of the structure and the modern buildings in silhouette which altogether make us admire and respect the splendour of its creations.
