"Busing it around Australia is..." Australia Transportation Tip by Jo_katz

Busing it around Australia is definately the best way to do it - it's cheap and it's the only way to appreciate the sheer size of the country. I went with Oz experience, on the up side your bus driver can also be your tour guide; point out things to do (or not to do), show you good accommodation etc. It's also useful to be able to ask your driver to do supermarket stops etc. On the down side they are more expensive than Greyhound or McCaffertys and they depart less frequently. However Oz experience are completely flexible so you can hop on and off as you please.

If your told that you should book your bus ticket before you depart for Oz because its cheaper. Ignore this, its no cheaper and your better off arranging transport when you've decided when and where you want go. Internal airfares can also be purchased more easily and cheaper once you've arrived.
