When in Nashville, besides a must see of the Opryland Hotel, you must attend a Grand Ole Opry perfomance. Hey, wait a minute! Who is that guy that just ran on stage! Wow, it's Garth Brooks! Geez, with all these musicians hanging around Nashville, you never know who is going to pop in for a surprise appearance!
The theater is in the Opryland complex. In other words, after spending a couple hours wandering around the Opryland Hotel, you just drive down Briley Parkway about 1/4 mile south and you are at the Grand Ole Opry. It's really just one big parking lot and complex along Briley Parkway. This experience will rekindle your heart feelings. Everything that is or used to be important to you that you have put on the back burner because of the hectic pace of life. A warm glow will be rekindled in your heart, and you will remember what is important in life. Your roots, your love for your ancestors and family, and you will walk out of there with a smile in your heart!
The Grand Ole Opry has been going on for quite some decades. The new theatre at the Opryland complex is nice and intimate, with an atmosphere like the original Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville.
You can order tickets ahead of time, or buy them at the front desk at the Opryland Hotel. Last time I went, I got a front row ticket, for the Vince Gill performance, three hours before showtime, at the front desk of the Opryland Hotel.
The history of American country music, is there. And it is broadcast live, still, on the radio station WSM 650 AM, with the announcer on stage doing commercials between songs.
Address: 2804 Opryland Drive.
