It starts in Dawson Creek, B.C. (its an actual place) and runs up through the territory and into Alaska. It can take any where from 4-6 hours to travel this section of the road, depending on your leisure and if there is construction, which can slow things down considerably. I have found that the scenery between Whitehorse and up to the Alaska border is particularly magnificent. Best months to go are in June, July and August is when autumn hits but I found this is when the colors were most spectacular. You witness great mountain ranges and great flats that are flooded with bright reds and violets and it is fairly common to witness a deer, bear or moose. Do not get out of the car to see any of these animals!!! They are extremely dangerous!

Directions: Whitehorse to Beaver Creek, Yukon Territory. Right before the border is a very small community named Beaver Creek where I worked for a summer. This is a picture of it- stop and check out the live thea
