Café Zähringer: "Café Zähringer" Zürich Restaurant Tip by guth

Zürich Restaurants: 333 reviews and 597 photos

The Zähringer is one of the 'alternative' restaurants in Zurich. They never have enough money, so the city is helping, the customers are helping and somehow the place manages to be there every day. The food is said to be 100% organic (we call it 'bio' in Switzerland) and you surely won't find anything common there. You can eat salad and drik beer, all right. But you also can drink Kefir water and eat fried cheese. Look at the big blackboards and choose one of the three menus. If you don't know what it is, you can always ask. But I would try it anyhow. There is soup or salad inclusive in any menu.

Favorite Dish: The meals are quite inventive and various. I like them all.

Directions: The café is on Zähringerplatz 11, a charming little square near the Predigerkirche, that's a couple of meters north of the Niederdorfstrasse. It's difficult to miss the Predigerkirche's tall green tow
