Many kinds of accomodations to chose, hotels, renting a flat, hostels (usually in the main cities), campings, country inns exc.
Hotels and farm inns prices change so much from an area to another one, the price of a 4 star hotel in Rome could be the dopple of one in Rimini.Anyway, usually count to spend more then 120 dollars for a 4 star hotel in a city, about 90/100 dollars for a 3 stars and so on.

Unique Qualities: In country inns, you are supposed to eat only food made by the owners of the farm, it is not always true, but usually the quality is really high.

Price Comparison: more expensive than average
Directions: The best country inns are supposed to be in tuscany, but now they are also the more touristic ones, I would check for those in Umbria area.
