"Tully Castle, Fermangh. This..." Belfast Off The Beaten Path Tip by oneonta_ni

Belfast Off The Beaten Path: 54 reviews and 55 photos

Tully Castle, Fermangh. This castle is a 17th century fortified castle and bawn, which originally had a wall with 4 towers around it. Part of a tower still remains. The garden has been recreated to give an idea of what it would have looked like during this time. The castle has a very sad history as it was burned by the Maguires in 1641 and all the residents, except for the owner's wife and children were murdered. It is in a beautifully rural location. It is not easy to find but is signposted from the A46.
