"in Tallinn..." Estonia Favorite Tip by vairab

Favorite thing: Sightseeing is both unavoidable and deeply rewarding in Tallinn. The signature of centuries of history is etched into the city's streets and buildings. The Old Town is a compact maze of cobblestone streets, historical buildings and breathtaking viewpoints. Since 1997, the Old Town has a place on UNESCO's World Heritage List. Many of the old buildings have been freshly renovated, but they have kept true to their original appearances, creating a dazzling medieval setting for a city apace with modern life. While the Old Town is easy to cover on foot, venturing beyond the centre to get a truer taste of the city's cosmopolitan present will be well worth your while.

Tallinn is full of unique museums, covering a range of fields from history and nature to art and architecture. For art lovers, museums show a range of established artists, but the city's art scene is also alive with constantly changing exhibits in galleries and halls. Paintings, sculpture, graphic art and applied art by lesser-known names and new talent from Estonia and abroad are shown in many venues throughout the city, giving a better taste of what's happening now.
