"Marble Arch Caves" Fermanagh Things to Do Tip by oneonta_ni

Fermanagh Things to Do: 3 reviews and 3 photos

It's official - the caves have just been declared Northern Ireland's most popular tourist attraction! I would have said the Giant's Causeway, but there you go.

These are my favourite caves. As there is a river running through them, the tour starts in a boat and you get an interesting view of the dramatically lit stalactites. Then the tour continues with a walk through different areas of the caves. I have found this tour more interesting than Mitchelstown and much less touristy than Ailwee Caves.

Please note that people with asthma or breathing problems may find the climb out of the caves difficult. Also, it can be quite chilly so bring a jacket.

Directions: In County Fermanagh, ask for directions at the Tourist Office in Enniskillen. The caves are closed after a heavy rain due to the river and are also closed in winter.
