"Kiyomizu Dera." Kiyomizu Temple Tip by Sharrie

Kiyomizu Temple, Kyoto: 2 reviews and 2 photos

Favorite thing:
Pay a visit to KIYOMIZU-DERA Temple & HIEAN-JINGU Shrine.
Kiyomizue-dera's main hall has a huge varenda supported on hundreds of pillars (not a single screw attached)! An amazing architectural feat! A very scenic layout and its garden (full of cherry blossom in April) attracted many religious Buddhists and tourists. Please refer to my Sakura travelogue under the Tokyo page to fully experience the wonder of Spring season in Japan.
Kiyomizu-Dera is one of the most famous landmarks of Kyoto since it's over a 1000 years old!
Getting There: Bus - 206, 207 to Kiyomizu-michi.
Open Daily: 6 am - 6 pm.
Tel: (075) 551 1234.

Fondest memory:
The cultural ambience & history of Kyoto make it one of the most unique city in Japan!
