Jokhang Monastery: A must for those on the pilgrimage. Built in 647 AD by King Songtsen Gampo who had a Chinese Princess as bride (Princess Wen Cheng).

In this 1300 year old architecture which combines both the ancient Han & Tibetan technique, murals of Princess Wencheng entering Tibet can be found. Princess Wencheng was the Tang Dynasty princess who was betrothed to the Tibetan King Songtsan Gampo (517-650).

With the entourage of tourists & believers here, one can hardly feel lonely here. The energy generated was quite pleasant as I remembered.

Address: Old City.
