Favorite thing: Its an obvious choice, but the shopping is absolutely amazing down orchard road, and shouldnt, and i doubt whether it would be missed by any traveller to singapore. Besides that, the local distinct cultral centres of Chinatown and Little India are great for traditional meals, clothing and shopping. For something a little different and not so hectic, another smaller area which is becomming more and more popular with both locals and tourists is Holland Village. It is the suburb where i lived and is a common place for expats to live because of the townhousing, exectutive apartments and proximity to central points of Singapore. It is worth a visit to explore the food centres and the Holland Village shopping centre, which houses alot of traditional arts and crafts, woodworks, sillks, and jewellery. There are countless coffee shops and pubs to enjoy a nice drink and break from the humdidity. It is approximatly a 10 mintue ride from the Orchard road, and along the way are the beautiful botanical gardens. The picture i have included looks down Lor Liput in Holland Village on a busy Saturday.

Fondest memory: By living there for awhile, the fondest memories are of course the friends i made, the local idiosyncrasies of the local hawker centres are not to be missed.
