  Piazza Vecchia in Bergamo
by sim1

This is the square in the old town of Bergamo that you really have to see! The Piazza Vecchia is so beautiful. Just go and stand here, and look around you, and again, and again, and again.... I couldn't get enough of looking at it.

In the picture you can see the Palazzo della Ragione. The original palace was built in the 12th century, but the current palace dates back to the 16th century when it was rebuilt after a fire. The first floor is an open loggia with big arches. When you walk underneath the arches, you will be on the Piazza del Duomo.

The picture is a bit bleak because of the sunshine just shining over the building. But that just reminds me of how lovely the weather was while I was here. Gorgeous sunshine, I just love that!

Directions: Bergamo is located in the region of Lombardy.
