"Hotel in Mestre.... continued..." Venice Hotel Tip by sim1

But.... I wasn't sure if I wanted to go to Venice on Sunday, right after the VT-meeting, or stay another night in Bergamo. So I decided not to make any reservations, and just risk it.

I was in luck again. After the meeting I drove with two other great VT-ers to Venice : Venusia and Banjo. They knew exactly where to go in Mestre, and directed me to the hotel area, where could make a pick which hotel I liked best. Hahaha, of course I didn't go for the cheapest one. Hahaha, nope, lazy me went for the one closest to the railwaystation :-)) It was a very good hotel, and I got a good deal on the price too, because they were working on part of the hotel. That didn't bother me at all, because I was gone all day anyway, and during the evening it was all quiet. Hmmm, I enjoyed this hotel very much. It is the Golden Tulip Hotel Tritone and is a three star hotel. You can find more info about the hotel on the website : www.goldentulip.com

I think Mestre is a good alternative for a hotel in Venice itself. But it has of course its disadvantages. Although the trainride is short, you don't want to travel back and forth to Mestre all the time. So that means you can't pop in and out your hotel during the day.
