El Sombrero: "Mexican food- a Local Secret" Restaurants Above Average Tip by ricknkat
Restaurants Above Average, Las Vegas: 74 reviews and 90 photos
This is a tiny way old mexican rest. with really good, fresh food and a kicking jukebox with all kinds of good mex. tunes from greats like Freddy Fender. It's a local fav. because it's like a nice little hideaway from typical Vegas.
El Sombrero has been serving up great Mexican food for the last 45 years.
super convenient for shopping at the Catholic Charities Thrift store and the Attic (swank, tho overpriced retro items bought from the Catholic Charities Thrift store), both of which are just accross the street.
Favorite Dish: The fideo soup is great (incredibly fine pasta in a light and delicate tomato/vegetable broth with Mexican spices. Excellent!
Directions: 807 South Main Street; 382-9234.
It is about 1.5 blks north of Charleston blvd.
