"Achama, rua Victoria 3, Praia..." Portugal Restaurant Tip by oneonta_ni

Achama, rua Victoria 3, Praia da Oura (Algarve).
This is a very casual restaurant which serves mainly Portuguese food. We found it difficult to find nice Portuguese food in this resort town because everything is aimed at tourists. This restaurant had very friendly waiters and the food was very tastey. They were very good to my wee niece (who was 10 months old at the time) and one waiter even brought his 8 month old son over to show him off. The Portuguese love children and are very tolerant of them in restaurants.

The total price for our 2 courses and sangria was around PES6000, which we found to be very reasonable. I think if you go looking for non-Portuguese food, you will probably find it very expensive.

Favorite Dish: Possibly the chicken Piri Piri but it is usually my favourite anywhere in Portugal! GF had a mixed seafood grill with salmon, sardine, turbot, trout and tuna. The sangria was very nice, too.

Directions: Down a side road, off the 'Strip'. Worth looking out for!
