"El Valle de Anton" Panama Things to Do Tip by Fantasmine

Panama Things to Do: 234 reviews and 444 photos

This green and nice town located over the crater of an extinct volcano is two hours from Panama City. Every Sunday there is a colourful and cheap market where locals and residents of neighbouring towns gather to offer an impressive variety of flowers, rattan furniture, fruits, vegetables and handicraft such as straw-hats, miniature wood houses and a lot of animal figures carved in a special rock called ?soap rock. There are also more things to do in El Valle: you can visit ?El Nispero? a large zoo with a lot of autochthonous species, if you want to boost up your adrenaline, there is the ?Canopy Adventure? where you can travel from tree to tree passing the ?Chorro Macho? Cascade over steel cables 180 feet above the forest floor, or if you just want to relax you can visit the ?Hotel Campestre? where you can find the golden frog, typical of this area, and do a little trekking to find the famous ?square? trees.

Directions: Located approximately 2-2 1/2 hours north of Panama City, To get there, turn off the Inter-American Highway shortly after San Carlos until you find a lovely town (about 30 minutes).
