Manchester Local Customs: 54 reviews and 51 photos

This China town started from a small group of Chinese Restaurants opening nearby the 1960s. Most of the first Chinese in Manchester were Hakkanese from the New Territories of Hong Kong. These tended to be rural people with a chief clan in each settlement. This community is continuing to expand and progress forward day by day.
When I first came here 3 years ago, I noticed that most of the chinese people here were cantonese speaking and probably from Hong Kong. Suddenly this year it has changed and there are now just as many Mandarin speaking chinese. I believe that most of the chinese people here will soon be Mandarin speakers
