My favorite, but also least favorite (only) accomodation is Normanby House, this is a residential building provided solely through Monash. Right now, it is inhabited mostly by Asian students who are learning English at the Language Center or Monash College. Having a conversation is not always easy. Also they speak Thai or Chinese, or whatever it is they speak, among themselves (naturally) which makes you feel more like an outsider here if you happen to be from, say, Holland. The bathrooms and showers are shared and are, like the kitchen, quite big. It's like campground accomodation, only it is kept cleaner and warmer.

Price Comparison: less expensive than average
Directions: It's about 10 minutes walking from the main campus of Monash Uni in Clayton. About an hour walking from the train (subway) to the city, and you need to take the bus to go to the supermarket (about 10-
