What to eat being in Portugal? Obvious answer is different varieties of seafood. Local people try to have one fish and one meat meal per day. The most traditional fish is bacalao (cod fish). It is salted, dried, then softened in water and cooked in thousand ways. Shouriso is a very famous sausage made of cow and pork meat, smoked and dried. Lunch time at restaurants is between 1pm and 3pm. For a diner most people go quite late – from 8pm. When you offer meal, the waiter brings you some bread, cheese (or salted meat sometimes) and olives. It helps to short the time while waiting for the dishes are cooked. :)
