You must drive through the Dingle Peninsula which is one of the loveliest places left on earth. The Ring of Kerry is also a treasure, be sure to take the extra drive to Portmagee. And when you meet an old sailor who was on a cruise ship with Elizabeth Taylor, do say Liz says hello.
The locals still speak Gaelic in Dingle.
It is quiet before the season starts and normally there is a fog that rolls in from the sea. If you are lucky you will see Slea Head and the beach where they filmed 'Ryan's Daughter'. Another beach is Inch which is past Anascaul.
