"Packing List" Indonesia Packing List Tip by biawak
Indonesia What to Pack: 48 reviews and 31 photos
Luggage and bags: Use luggage that can be locked. Travelling with bags and suitcases that are not locked is not advisable. Never leave your luggage unattended in a public place.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Be current with your vaccinations against common intestinal problems such as cholera, dysentery, typhus/paratyphus. Diarrhea pills are a must if you plan to eat in the cheaper road stalls. Anti-malaria pills are important if you are going to swampy/forest areas. Urban areas have dengue fever problems sometimes.
Photo Equipment: Only 35 mm colour print film is available in every little town that has a photo-processing store. Slide/Positive film and other film sizes usually are much harder to find. They can be found mostly on specialty photography stores.
8 mm video is common. MiniDV, Hi8 and Digital8 tapes are more difficult but not impossible to find. Normal VHS types are common in larger cities but VHS-C or S-VHS can only be found in specialty stores. Tapes available are in PAL format.
Miscellaneous: Electricity is 220 Volts, 50 Hz. The plug type is 2 round holes, similar to Western European type (or with side grounding contacts or German/Swiss "Schuko" type).
TV system is PAL B/G.
