"Get out and about. Hire a car..." Tunisia Favorite Tip by Plendil

Favorite thing: Get out and about. Hire a car for a couple of days and investigate Tunisia. The main roads are usually in good condition (some better than the UK's roads.) Everything and everywhere is well signposted, just watch out for speeding donkeys and kamikazee pedestrians in the interior, they're not used to much traffic and have no road sense! It is a bit weird entering the city of Tunis in a 4 lane road and you're flanked by 2 buses, 3 cars, 2 motorbikes and a donkey! Not for the fainthearted! But great fun (you do laugh about it afterwards.)

Fondest memory: Having eaten cous-cous for dinner and then enjoying a hubble bubble pipe afterwards being closely followed by a cognac.
I loved shopping it was great fun and no I did not come home with a carpet or a leather coat or several camels.
I went to a 'camel market' (the Tunisian equivalent of a cross between a car boot/garage sale and your normal everyday market.) I have never seen so many people in one place at the same time.
