"Coming from outside Italy the..." Milan Transportation Tip by mauro_pd

Milan Transportation: 281 reviews and 308 photos

Coming from outside Italy the best way is to fly to Malpensa (north, 40 Km, motorway), to Linate (LIN, east, 10 Km) or to Orio (east, 30 Km, motorway A4). From Malpensa (code MXP) there's a train shuttle for connection with Cadorna railway station in the city center.
Almost every 'interesting' site can be reached by one of the three lines of 'Metropolitana' (underground). Check the official site of ATM, the public transport company at www.atm-mi.it (english written pages available). Do not expect announcements for the next station: they're not present in Milan.

If you plan to use taxis you can mostly pay by credit card (check before to avoid chaos).
