<B><FONT COLOR='STEELBLUE'>THE HIGHEST POINT IN ICELAND IS A 6952 FOOT (2119 METERS) PEAK THAT GOES BY THE NAME OF 'HVANNADALSHNUKUR'. I HEARD THAT THERE IS A COMPANY THAT ARRANGES A MULTI DAY CROSS COUNTRY SNOWMOBILE ADVENTURE THAT GOES PRETTY CLOSE TO THE TOP! ANYWAY, HERE IS AN ADVENTURE RETRIEVED FROM THE WEB:

The challenge was to drive across Vatnajokull Glacier, Europe's largest, to the base of Hvannadalshnukur Mountain and winch a truck to the summit, 7,000 feet above sea level. Calamities began three hours into the expedition when two vehicles broke through the ice on a frozen lake and sank to the door handles.
By Day 3, a base camp had been set up on Hvannadalshnukur Mountain, and climbers headed up the mountain to set anchors for the winching ascent. By the next day, the expedition's custom Jeep Cherokee was ready to be winched to the top. During a 12-hour period, 78 back-to-back pulls with a Warn XD9000 winch up 45-degree slopes in five-degree weather with 30 mph winds dragged the Cherokee to Hvannadalshnukur's summit. Following a brief celebration, the decent began. With gravity on the team's side, the Jeep was winched back to base camp in six hours. But the adventure wasn't over yet.
