Visit the 'St.Joseph Oratory'.This grand Italian Renaissance-style basilica was built in 1966 by Montreal's Catholics in honour of St.Joseph, patron saint of Canada, and in memory of brother Andre.A statue of St.Joseph meets those who arrive to see the maginificent shrine named for him.The shrine, at 263 meters, is the highest point in Montreal.The shrine houses the chapel of the Blessed Sacrament and a museum dedicated to the life of frere Andre, a priest who was elevated to sainthood by the Vatican, in 1982.
