Frankfurt's skyline is one of the major sights in the city and it is worth to look at it from an elevated position. Especially around dusk, the lights of the city are good for some marvellous effects.

While the most famous and highest platform is located at the Maintower, that platform is also the most expensive. Another popular viewing point you have to pay for is the spire of the Kaiserdom. The Zeilgalerie shopping mall as well as the restaurant terrace of the Kaufhof warehouse are the only higher places from which you can enjoy the view for free. You are not obliged to buy anything at Kaufhof, but I think that you somehow feel you have to. Therefore, I prefer the Zeilgalerie to look at all the skyscrapers.

You will find the platform at the uppermost floor of the Zeilgalerie, on the side facing the Zeil pedestrian zone. A metal relief will help you to identify all important buildings in Frankfurt you can see from here.

Address: Zeil 112-114, Frankfurt/M.
Directions: RIght in the middle of the city centre, the closest Metro station is Hauptwache.
