"Playa Los Coyotes, northeast..." Mexico Things to Do Tip by eclark

Playa Los Coyotes, northeast of La Paz on the same peninsula was spectacular. You rent a car and drive right out of town along the water, past the big commercial shipping port and ferry docks. Eventually, you will come to a splendid area of wild beach where you can get back to nature, literally. The water is the channel between the mainland of Baja and Espiritu Santos Island. I am told that the channel is very deep. The relatively arid desert scenery and deep blue water make the most compelling and beautiful contrast. It is a great place to beach comb for shells, fish bones, pieces of coral that have washed up on the shore and bleached in the sun. Just before you get to Los Coyotes, there is an RV park in the area where people from all over N. America seem to congregate. There is a nice beach front restaurant and bar, too.
