Fondest memory: ?Blue Ice?
Because of the tremendous weight and pressure, all the air is squeezed out of the glacier ice. It is so dense and compact that the higher frequencies of light, mainly the color blue, cannot escape or penetrate out of the glacier, which explains the dark blue tinge.

A few other interesting facts about glacier ice: because of its thick density, a small piece of glacier ice will keep a 6-pack very cold for several days. It may also be a few thousand years old. Technically, glacier ice is so compressed that it is classified as a metamorphic rock.
