Marsalforn, Gozo: 7 reviews and 13 photos

Marsalforn is a village in the north west of Gozo and is the island's most popular tourist resort, its lined with sandy beaches, plenty of hotels as well as bars and restaurants. Its also very popular with divers and there are plenty of diving schools in the region.
The name of the village is taken from the Arabic word 'Marsa' which means port or bay and its history dates back to Roman times. It was an important major port until the 16th century with important trade with Sicily and other ports in Italy.with the development of Mgarr harbour,Marsalforn lost its importance but still retained its importance as a major fishing community.
