"IL GIARDINO BED & BREAKFAST,..." Italy Hotel Tip by JessicaS

Italy Hotels: 384 reviews and 444 photos

The proprietor quotes you a price, and that's it - but it was better than any others we could find for late July, and it was within the city walls (all the others at comparable price were outside the walls). She also quoted us the price in US dollars - $110/night - and converted it to Lire when we were paying.

Unique Qualities: The proprietor calls it a B&B, but it's not a typical one. It's basically a couple of rooms next to her home in an apartment building - the 'breakfast' part means that it comes complete with a small fridge and some cooking implements, and all the bread, pastries, coffee and tea you want (we supplemented our meals with fruit and yogurt bought at a market nearby). The room we stayed in was great - for three people, there was a queen-size and a twin bed, and the ceiling (probably 17 feet high) was frescoed! The view out the windows was lovely, too, and we woke to birdsong every morning. There's no AC here, although it stayed pretty comfortable while we were there in late July (just follow the directions regarding when to open the shutters and when to close them).

Address: Via Pantaneto, 105
