What else can you say about the artwork in Firenze? There's stuff here that you can't see anywhere else in the world - and it's art that changed the world. You can't beat that. Don't be fooled by the statue of David in the Piazza della Signoria - it's a copy of the real thing that stands in the place where the original once stood (the original was moved in the late 1800's to its current location in the Galleria dell'Accademia). The Uffizi has the only surviving Michelangelo easel painting (a holy family that's stunningly colorful), and all the famous Botticellis you could ever want to see in one place. The Bargello has a few Michelangelo statues, including an early Bacchus and Madonna and Child, as well as Donatello's David (which Michelangelo saw quite a bit of when he lived in the Medici palace). The Accademia has not only Michelangelo's David, but also some of his unfinished Prisoners. The David, though, is the main draw of this museum - and it's amazing in its stature. The copy in the Piazza della Signoria, although it's exactly the same size, seems small in comparison.
