Danylo Halytskyi (also known as King Daniel) was the King of Galicia and the first King of the Kievan Rus. King Danylo founded L'viv (1256 is the year when for the first time the name of the city was mentioned in a written document) that is believed to be named after his son Lev and is considered also a founder of Kholm which is now located in Poland. The statue was built in 2001 year and is situated on Halyys'ka Square across from the flower market and not far way from the Bernardine church and monastery in the Old Town of L'viv. It was built to commemorate the 800th birthday of the King.

Address: Halyts’ka Square., L'viv, Ukraine
Directions: Nearby the Bernardine church and monastery in the Old Town of L'viv
