This restaurant, which makes it's own beer, provides you a small-town ambiance in the middle of urban sprawl. It is located on a busy street (which reminded me of the busy suburban streets in America) to the east of downtown Frankfurt but when you walk into the restaurant you feel like you stepped into a country cafe. For being a Saturday afternoon, the place was almost empty.
Even though it is located next to a major international city, the waitress did not speak English and they didn't have an English menu (at least for their mid-day menu). But the cool thing was that it wasn't a problem since the waitress was very nice and helped us with our bad German. She even took us back to the kitchen to show us what one of the dishes looked like.
They serve hot food all day which is nice if you want to do some touring and then stop for a late lunch. The food was pretty good and they have a number of dishes with a "green sauce" which we were told was a Frankfurt specialty. None of us could put a finger on what exactly the sauce consisted of but we all thought it was good. You can even get your Schnitzel in a Green Sauce.
Now for the main reason I picked this place - the beer. They brew three types of beer: Hell, Dunkel and Weisse (wheat). We tasted all three and all agreed that the Dunkel was the best. In fact it was good enough that we ordered a second round consisting solely of Dunkels.

Favorite Dish: Try a dish that has the "Green Sauce". I thought the Schnitzel with green sauce was pretty tasty. Another good choice is the Goulash with potato dumplings. The meat was very tender (also fatty) but the sauce (not green) was excellent.
