"The Hauptbahnhof" Berlin Things to Do Tip by Maryimelda

This train station beggars belief. It is huge (and that is a massive understatement). The station is seven storeys high and includes several levels of train tracks/platforms, many many eateries and enough shops to do your Christmas shopping in one stop. I could not believe it!

I came back to the station to catch a train back to Hannover after spending a busy day sightseeing in Berlin. I had left myself enough time to grab a quick bite to eat before departure time, but almost missed my train because there were so many food outlets selling so many different varieties of fabulous eats that I couldn't make up my mind what I was going to have. In the end I settled for bratwurst on a roll and ran to the platform.

Even if you aren't going to or coming from Berlin by train, you would probably do well to put the Hauptbahnhof on your sightseeing list. It is truly amazing.
