Yes May is the perfect time to do the trek.October,May and April are good months.Although,I've heard it is snowing at Namche,Tengboche and higher areas as we speak.I suggest you guys start from Lukla rather than Jiri, though. Also, you can go to this place called Himalyan Waves Trekking who I went through, they are brilliant. They have an office in Thamel so you can contact them there.I suggest you mail them before hand and they will send you an itinerary and the details. They have very good guides-in particular take this guy called Som or Krishna(They are both awesome guides). They will organize a porter for you too, unless you're on a tight budget.I know the itinerary from Lukla,I think it takes a week or two longer from Jiri to Base Camp. The itinerary from Lukla is-
Day 1.Lukla to Phakding
Day 2.Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Day 3. Acclimatization day at Namche
Day 4.Namche to Tengboche
Day 5.Tengboche to Dingboche
Day 6. Acclimatization at Dingboche
Day 7.Dingboche to Lobuche
Day 8.Lobuche to Base camp and stay in Gorak Shep
Day 9.Gorak Shep to Dingboche
Day 10.Dingboche to Phungi Tenga
Day 11.Phungi Tenga to Jorsale
Day 12.Jorsale to Lukla

That's what it's like but you can alter it completely according to your wish. You can also go via Gokyo/Chola Pass etc. Also,go at your own pace throughout

P.S-I just got back
