Busy on a rainy Saturday afternoon.

Laura ordered a Leberkäse Sandwich. What the heck? It turns out that leberkäse is sliced “German pressed meatloaf,” basically Spam, served warm on a bun with flavorful spicy German mustard and potato chips ($8). The meat was unique, but spongy and not really my thing.

I had "the Rob," a roast beef sandwich on kummelweck. What is kummelweck? Also known simply as "weck," this is a German kaiser roll topped with kosher salt and caraway seeds. Kümmel is the German word for caraway, and weck means "roll." The roast beef was delicious, but the kummelweck far too salty for my tasty, especially when served with the salty potato chips ($8).
