done in 1728 in the convent of santo domingo (today gone) as pontifical and royal university of Havana, got rid of royal in 1902 and pontifical in 1940 open to all.
It is at the current site from 1902. You reach by a high stair hill with an statue of the Alma Mater. Inside you have the museum Montané showing important discoveries in archeology from the pre colombian era.
