There is a new monument in Alexeyev Park behind Dzerzhinsky monument.
It's in Defense Street ("ulitsa Oboronnaya" in Russian), just opposite Ukraine Leisure Center.
This monument was dedicated in 2011 and is devoted to the frontier guards who fell while on duty.
The golden memorial represents a frontier guard while on duty and his service dog near the barbed wire wall.
The inscription on the wall of the monument reads,
Eternal glory
to the frontier guards
who perished while on duty.
The square around and behind Dzerzhinsky monument in Alexeyev Block has always been a meeting place of the former frontier guards on their festival: Frontier Guards’ Day that has been observed on May 28 since Soviet times.
