If you like walking, you might like to just walk to Llandaff from the city centre of Cardiff. Just walk through Bute Park and it is a distance of about three and a half km. At first you need to walk along the River Taff, then follow the signs and cross the river. After some time there are no signs any more, but just keep going north and soon you will see the spire of Llandaff cathedral.
Especially in the beginning it is a very nice walk. I did it in the morning and met many locals walking their dogs.

If you don't want to walk (or don't want to walk both ways), you can also use the bus. From the bus station, you need to take bus 25, 62 or 62A and get off at Black Lion Stop in Llandaff. To return you need to take bus 25 or 60.
Busses to Llandaff leave Cardiff every ten minutes, on sundays only at five and twenty-five minutes past the hour.
A single ticket is £1,60, £3,20 return.
