You'll find glorious beaches all across the Northern half of the Island. Harbour Beach is directly next to the Harbour, and apparently gets very busy in Summer.
Fisherman's Beach is a long expanse of yellow sand a few minutes walk from Harbour Village. At low tide, the beach looks out across the flats where Oyster Beds are laid, and out toward Hermetier, an islet that appears, at high tide, to be quite a distance from land but becomes part of the landscape at low tide. Also loads of rockpools at ow tide.
Bear's beach is also an expanse at low tide, and just North from Fisherman's.
North Beach, which runs the entire length of the Northern shore is spectacular with rock formations jutting out into the sea at both low and high tide. Apparently quieter than other beaches at busy times, shallow swimming is OK at high tide.
Shell Beach runs along the North West shore, and is beautiful. Numerous shells can be found along the high tide line, and the clear, clean yellow sand seems to go on forever. There is a small snack bar at Shell Beach for Ice Creams, drinks and beach necessities.
