Northside Grille is a neighbourhood grille with a family-friendly feel. There is a bar in the middle but the long walls are lined with booths. I had never heard of this place before even though I had eaten at other similar places in the same area. A friend of Lee's recommended this to us. The wait staff was very attentive and the service was fast. You would expect this type of local restaurant to stick with a tried-and-true American comfort food menu. They do offer some of that, but on some things they offer their more elevated spin.

Favorite Dish: I had the grilled marinated portobello mushroom burger with roasted red peppers, chevre cheese, lettuce & tomato with sweet potato fries on the side. The mushroom took the place of the usual grilled beef patty and was surprisingly meaty. The sweet taste of the roasted red peppers was the perfect counterpoint to the tangy chevre cheese. Some places serve stingy portions at lunch: not Northside Grille. Their website says, "We are sure you will leave with a full stomach and a smile on your face!!!" They are right on both counts.
