In 1877 the Great Northern Railway-line built the station in Werris Creek and they
found this town to be the very best place for a junction for a sideline to Gunnedah and so Werris Creek became one of the most important stations of that area - you can still see that nowadays by the giant station-buildings.
In the 1950s around 700 people were working for the trainline in Werris Creek.
Directions: The station is in the very centre of the village, just follow the rails along the mainstreet.
