The restaurant has been designed to seduce and pamper the palate with a delightful fusion of western and Anglo Indian cuisine. As its name suggests, the restaurant `Curry and Rice’ draws its inspiration from George Francklin Atkinson’s `Curry and Rice on Forty Plates’. Published in London in 1859 it was a satirical work on the newly arrived British in India. It contained a title and 39-lithographed plates. These formed the model for the murals in the dining room and connecting passage specially commissioned by His Highness. In addition to the typical Anglo Indian cuisine, there are also highly secret recipes from the royal kitchen of the Wadiyar family. The restaurant has an award-winning chef who also specialises in Indian, Continental, Chinese and Nilgiri cuisine, as well as Health food.
the relaxed, comfortable ambience with twinkling stars glimpsed through the floor to ceiling glass wall overlooking the garden and the softly rolling hills beyond … a gentle breeze … endless tete-a-tetes, a romantic dinner … and the feast begins … 600-year old delicacies are unveiled for the celebration of the night that has just begun …
