I stayed in the 2nd arrondisement ie. postal code 75002 and it was convenient. As long as you can walk to the nearest metro it shouldn't be that bad. But personally , I tried to avoid the 18e coz of walking up and down the slope. I loved the area but if I had to walk up the hill after a tired day out, I think it's a little too much for me.
