Have a look to the bat

Many species of bats which are most threatened are hibernating in abandoned buildings of Fort Borsbeek. With the other forts around Antwerp, it is one of the most important place of Western Europe for the winter rest of the bats.

The constant temperature (4-10 ° C) and high humidity as well as the tranquility of the place offer a unique area for the winter. (Without these conditions, bats drying out) This is also why the buildings are inaccessible during the fall and winter. They can be visited with a guide in the spring and summer. A night visit is organized on the last Saturday of September

De nombreuses espèces de chauve-souris dont la plupart sont menacé viennent hibernés dans les bâtiments abandonnés du fort de Borsbeek. Avec les autres forts autour d'Anvers, il est un des endroits les plus important de l'europe de l'Ouest pour le repos hivernal des chauves-souris .
La temperature constante (4 à 10 °c) et le haut degré d'humidité ainsi que la quiétude des lieux offrent une place unique pour l'hiver. (Sans ces conditions, les chauves-souris déssècheraient) C'est aussi pourquoi les bâtiments sont innaccessible durant l'automne et l'hiver. Ils se visitent avec un guide au printemp et en été. Une visite nocturne est organisée le dernier samedi de septembre.
