Lovere Saturday Market: "Get a bargain here!" Lovere Shopping Tip by suvanki

Alighting from the bus, we had spotted market stalls lining the lake-side. It was surprisingly larger than I'd thought at first.
First of all we wandered around the food stalls - A variety of local products including cheeses, cured meats, fruit and vegetables - all brightly coloured and appealing. We were nearly drooling over the plump strawberries!
Bergamo province is noted for the quality and variety of food grown and produced here. At least 8 types of local cheese have a DOP (Designation of Protected origin) status.

There were a few stalls selling pets - budgies and terrapins etc. These looked quite healthy.

Clothing, household goods, shoes, handbags etc were piled on other stalls.
A bag caught my eye - a lightweight bag with pockets, to be worn across the body - I handed 8 Euros to the stall holder - prices were displayed on all of the bags.

There were a few stalls selling hot snacks and drinks.

So, bring some sturdy shopping bags, and your Euros!!

What to buy: Local food produce - Cheeses (made from cows, goat or buffalo milk), cured meats, olives, herbs, fruit and veg etc.
